Finding Peace in the Midst of Stress

“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

Devotion

Life often brings moments of stress, a weight that can feel overwhelming. In those challenging times, Matthew 11:28 offers a soothing invitation from Jesus: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

In the midst of stress, we are called to bring our burdens to the Lord. He invites us to lay down our worries, anxieties, and the weight of our struggles at His feet. When life feels heavy, turning to Jesus is a source of true rest and peace.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I come before You with a heart weighed down by stress. Your Word assures me that I can find rest in You. In obedience to Your invitation, I lay my burdens at Your feet, trusting that You are the One who can give me true and lasting peace.

Grant me the strength to release my worries and anxieties, recognizing that Your yoke is easy, and Your burden is light. As I come to You, may I experience the rest that only You can provide.

Help me, Lord, to trust in Your sovereignty and to cast my cares upon You. In the midst of stress, may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Thank You for being the source of true rest and peace. In Jesus’ name, I pray.

Amen.
